Methodology

Sources

Fixtures, live scores, events, line-ups, match statistics and league tables come from a licensed football data provider. Our server collects them on a schedule; this website and our app never contact the provider directly, so every visitor sees the same checked data.

How often data updates

Live scores: about every 30 seconds while a match is in play. Today's matches: every 2 minutes. League tables: hourly, and every 15 minutes on match days. Whole-season fixtures: every 6 hours. Match pages show when they were last updated.

Times

Kick-off times are stored in UTC and shown in your own time zone.

Charts

The points race adds up each team's points match by match from that competition's results. The goals chart uses the goals scored and conceded in the table. Match stat bars compare the two teams' numbers for each statistic.
