Supporters staged protests at Old Trafford, with tennis balls thrown onto the pitch against the club's ownership. Despite the unrest, United won the match, with academy products Kobbie Mainoo and Lacey standing out. Michael Carrick was again cheered by fans, but his future is still uncertain. The result brought some relief, though criticism of the Glazer family and Jim Ratcliffe continued around the ground. Attention now turns to Aston Villa, who face the risk of further pressure on Carrick if results do not improve.
